Course Overview
Red Hat® Enterprise Virtualization (RH318) explores the virtualization features of Red Hat Enterprise Linux® managed through the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization suite. Students acquire the skills and knowledge to effectively create, deploy, manage, and migrate Linux and Microsoft Windows virtual machines hosted on either dedicated Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor nodes or Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers using Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager. With hands-on labs and a deep dive into the technology, this training course is the perfect first step for any enterprise planning or executing a virtualization deployment strategy.
Students who successfully complete this course are also prepared to take the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Certification Exam (EX318) and may earn the Red Hat Certified Vitalization Administrator (RHCVA) certification.Exams sold separately.

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager
- Install, test, remove and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor
- Install, configure, upgrade and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Environment Configuration
- Create and configure data centers, clusters, and storage domains
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization for Servers
- Install, perform basic management of, and troubleshoot virtual servers
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization for Desktops
- Install virtual desktops and configure para-virtualized drivers
Manage Virtual Machines
- Create and use image snapshots and explore high availability
Virtual Machine Templates
- Create Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtual machines with template images
Desktop Pools and Users
- Use desktop pools and deploy the Power User Portal with multi-level administrative roles
Monitoring and Reports

Course Prerequisites
- IT professionals who have earned an Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification or maintain the equivalent experience with Linux
- System administration experience on Microsoft Windows operating systems is beneficial but not necessary for this course
Test Certification
- RHCVA Exam (EX318) Hands-on, performance-based, 3-hour exam.
